From one photo to a figurine you can hold, entirely on your Mac.
You can turn a photo into a real, 3D-printed figurine on a Mac with 3D Mate: generate a 3D model from the photo, export a watertight STL or 3MF, and open it in your slicer. Everything runs on-device, so nothing uploads to a cloud. The trick is that a printable figurine needs solid, watertight geometry, not just a good-looking render, which is exactly what the print export handles.
Many "AI figurine generators" produce a 2D image of a stylised toy, not a 3D file you can print. To hold the thing, you need real geometry: a closed, watertight mesh exported as STL or 3MF. 3D Mate reconstructs that geometry from your photo on your Mac, then exports a file a slicer accepts.

Use a clear, well-lit photo with the whole subject in frame. A few angles improve the back. Scale in your slicer to the size you want, add supports for overhangs, and print in a fine layer height for small figurines. For very small pieces, see photo to tabletop miniature.
